I need to Transfer Photoshop Actions, Mac to Mac

I have custom Photoshop Actions that I want to transfer from one Mac G5 to another. However, I cannot find them anywhere. I’ve searched for them by name and also did a general search for .atn’s but with no success. All I can find are the presets. I don’t want to recreate all of them from scratch on the other Mac. Please help… :frowning:

Anyone???

I have CS2 so your version may vary. You need to save the set that the actions belong to.

  1. Open the Actions tab.
  2. Each of your custom actions will belong to a set. Move up the list until you find the set. It will have a ‘folder’ icon and an arrow pointing down, showing that it is open. The default set will be labelled ‘Default Actions’. Click on the folder to highlight it.
  3. At the top of the Actions palette there is a little arrow. Click on this to show a menu of options. Choose ‘Save Actions’ and save the file to your desktop. Call it something meaningful.

Now copy the file to your other computer. Put it in a folder associated with Photoshop, such as the Presets>Photoshop Actions folder.

  1. Click on the little arrow in the Actions palette and choose ‘Load Actions’. Choose the file you saved above. It will be added as a new set to your Actions palette and should be available each time.

Note: if you copied over some actions you don’t want along with your custom ones you can simply delete these from the set once you have loaded it on your other computer.

HTH,

Wow, so simple yet so…simple. LOL. Hey thanks a bunch!!
