How to extrude a model? (like in Maya)

So I got this thick pants model, but how do I extrude it so it doesn’t look like that?

Geometry>EdgeLoop>PannelLoop. Probably just 1 loop and 0 Polish 0 Bevel.
You can also use the Store Morph Target, then inflate and press CreateDiff method

You can also mask all the mesh but leave the part you want to extrude alone. Then. Hold ctrl key and turn to Move Mode or scale mode to move or scale. The. Mesh will be extruded .if there is subdivision. Level, freeze it First .
