Hey guys As in the subject of this post, im trying to make a render which would have a sort of faded reflection of the main model underneath itself, as maybe placed on a mirror or other reflective surface. How would I do that?
Do you have a picture showing what you want to achieve? Depending on the scene and how complex it is then it could be pretty easy to do in Photoshop.
Hi MentalFrog,
I’m not really interested in a simple copy/paste/invert and fade effect in photoshop, I was wondering how can you get something like on the pic attached, where the reflective surface shows what’s inside the model.

Well you could go really old skool, and duplicate and mirror your objects on the Y axis (perhaps give the mirrored copy some transparency).
… or you could get Keyshot for zbrush and turn on floor reflections.
Well I don’t have the spare cash at the moment for keyshot so I went with your oldschool idea approach (thx by the way!!) and I got what I wanted, more or less. It is a bit time consuming but can’t really complain, though it would be nice to just have an option for it inside zbrush
Will still need to refine it a bit but, especially the floor shadows but generally that’s the effect I was going for. Thanks again!!
