I’m a beginner at 3d scanning and zbrush and i have no idea how to close up a hole.
The mesh is not broken and the hole is caused by improper scanning and scanning software post process. Any idea how to close the hole?

hi !
we cannot see the entire object but as i see,
using classic “close holes” functions (tool>geometry>modify topology>close hole)
can work I guess, tell us.
If not, you can use all brushes to help you close it (move etc). for instance by adding a piece of geometry over the hole (insert sphere, etc)? then dynamesh it ?
Or directly use dynamesh (wich will close holes) but if the hole is ‘complex’ maybe sometimes it will not close it like you want.
I had a couple of thoughts on this. I was thinking, duplicate> zremesh> subD to right rez, then project all to put the details back on. There will be artifacts around the hole area, just smooth them out a bit. I do this when I import from various versions of Make Human.
My other thought on this would be too do a retopo with Zsphere. Never done this, but it might be a good application of the process.
I hope this helps. Close hole dose not always work. Its mostly for repairng broken geometry while sculpring I think.
