Hi guys… I dont ask much on here, if i need help i always look and usually find what im looking for
somewhere, alas im stuck here so i need to ask. iv been using zbrush on and of since is kind of started,
when you used to see that golden egypt head everywhere that was an amazing thing to see, zbrush was more a 2.5 d
program then and not really the top tool it is now. There did used to be a artist that did great stuff and images
with zbrush, he was probably one of the best users of the software, creating figures with lots of primitives and materials
making really complex stuff. wonder can anybody find him and his work, found him its zteve rae he aint on here anymore which is a shame coz it was his work that turned me on to zbrush. I lost my old account so made a new one.
well that aint what i need to know, what i want to know is , is it possible to make a stroke taper of as i brush out.
say im just standard brushing a fold out and as i ease of the pen the stroke should taper out thinner but it dont.
it always seems to stay the same thickness just gets choppy in thin lumps showing the dot stroke kind of, Hope that makes sense. if there a parameter i can change ? im guessing there is a curve to do this ? Hope im clear…if not ill draw a pic.
cheers guys…
I dont like to really post on here , my quality aint on par with most so i dont bother but as im asking a question ill have to post an image. so here was yesterday’s piece. Space zombie
Using the standard brush as example:
- In order to do smoother the stroke and reduce the dots change in the menus the stroke -> Lazy mouse -> lazystep from the default 0.2 to, for example, 0.05 (the same used by Dam standard brush)
- About taper assuming you are using a tablet: You always can achieve that effect with the pen pressure but If you want the effect exaggerated add an alpha to the brush, as alpha 38. But if you do a very uniform pressure the line will be more uniform.
- Using alphas will change the personality of the brush in a way that perhaps you don’t want. If you want to change the taper effect with no alpha in the standard brush then go to preferences -> tablet - > size sensitivity and change it to 1, this will give you the maximum of taper but will be applied to all brushes. 0 will give you no taper for all brushes that can be useful for mechanical effects.
- For the clay brush the tablet preferences also will help for the taper. About the dots lazymouse is off by default in claybrush but I have not been able to see dots in claybrush.
I’m not aware you can get taper using a mouse, but a mouse it is not a normal tool for zbrush.
cheers dude… im using a H420 pen not a mouse my wacom died so i thought id try a huion… lol darn i hate using a mouse in zbrush… Thanks for your input sir yea i only get the steps in the standard brush but id like a taper on all brushed, i think…id have to taste it
My bad admin, posted in wrong place…sorry. I cant seem to be able to get my skin fold looking correct, they look more like the face is made out of paper than skin… Im trying to find a way to do this better.
For skin wrinkles dam standard is very good, and then you can use inflate brush or pinch brush to change the feeling of the wrinkles when needed (not always needed). I guess you are trying to make the peaks of the wrinkles first when the standard is to do the valleys first, in the case of skin, unless there is an special case. But you desiccated style of skin in that model mummy style is special and not sure if would need other methods. I talk rather about normal skin.
