hi all…this started as an anatomy study and ended up here…this character is from the epic tale of prince ram form ancient India…i used many pics from google to refine the concept and the anatomy…still more work to be done on it next i will add a tail and some accessories hope u guys like it
It’s a very nice sculpt! However at this level of realism the perfect symmetry is making it look far too artificial.
Also, the lower arms are definitely too long. That is, if you’re using human anatomy and proportions… Then you should make the upper arm about a half palm longer than the lower arm.
Hmm, the tighs might be too short as well. Try something like Leonardo’s vitruvian man image to check your proportions.
LY - thanks a lot for that support…i will break the symetry and cheak the proportions in the next update.
made it slightly a-symetrical and reduced the size of the forearm as guided by LY. also added a tail.

The triceps is just now working, it’s not that small. check this for reference http://www.criticalbench.com/muscles/triceps-anatomy.jpg
When he puts his arms down, the elbow should be approximately at the point of the ribcage end.
I like the way the character is shaping up dude, cool stuff so far!
Aside from the abs, which I assume are an aesthetic choice, the only anatomical problem I see is in the quadriceps. It sort of looks like he just has one big sartorius, I don’t see any indication of the other leg muscles. If this is another aesthetic choice then so be it, but I’m not sure it’s the one I would make. The radius is also quite pronounced, but I happen to like that detail. I would like to see a close up of the forearm, it’s looking good from what I can see, but there might be a small adjustment or two that can be made.
Otherwise I can’t find a single thing that looks remotely questionable, so well done.
Edit: Oh, and like Cherub said, the triceps you’ve made are very small, though again, I think that adds character to the sculpt.
Very nice sculpting. He’s looking awesome. I would just say that he looks a little strange with an ‘8 pack’. Also I think the tail looks a bit odd just poking out of his shorts at the back. I don’t really feel how it connects to his spine. Looking forward to updates
thanks for your feedback guys!!
cherub_rock - will surely cheak on that…thanks for the reference
spimmy - thanks…
Twitchmonkey - thanks for those guidelines…i am working on the original sculpt and will edit those mistakes there too…while i was working on the bigger proportions sculpt i did increase the size of the tricep there and also tried to define the leg muscles…will make similar changes on the original sculpt too…thanks again
Captain Sensible - thanks…i am glad u like it …will cheak on the tail
wanted to create a pose where the character would scale to a bigger size yet maintaining monkey like proportions…so heres what i started with.will break the symetry after editing it…

Killer mesh
Hay cus ant there only 3 abbs in stead of 4 ?
From the pictorial minors to the belly button
and the 4th is below the belly button
ripped all the musculature from the sculpt to bring it down to a normal anatomy so i can use it for practise…second one is 2-3 hours of practise on a mesh i did long back.

Great work!!! I only have one suggestion on your monster: Unless his loincloth is glued to his body-you need to add a strap or string to hold it up.
did a another test render on this one still a lot of things to fix…will add an ncloth for better cloth simulation…

Very strong pose and good details!
this monster reminds me of Corben’s work…
hey there ! Great work you’re doing here. The last guy you did resembles(proportion and modeling wise) a lot to the creature found in Hyper Realistic Creature Creation book from Alias. keep up the good work !
You bloody rascal how dare you draw lord Hanuman in shorts
