GoZ shelf is not showing in Maya 2022

Hi,

I’ve made GoZ path to Maya 2022 latest version but cannot find GoZ shelf from Maya which means, not installed, obviously Maya 2022 shows empty space when I hit GoZ button.

userSetup.mel is copied into script/maya folder and GoZ re-installation is done through activating “GoZ_for_ZBrush_Installer_WIN.exe”, but nothing happens. Not sure Maya 2022 is not supported with GoZ yet and I have done something wrong.

Welcome to ZBC!

GoZ for Maya 2022 has not been released yet and you’ll need it before you can get GoZ to work. Don’t try installing it things yourself because you might cause problems later. GoZ has to be built for each new version of Maya. We’re on this, and will release it just as soon as we can.

Is there any prospect of implementing something like allowing only geometry to be replaced for the future (not this version since I’d assume you guys are just pushing for basic function of GoZ right now)? Or would that be something on Maya’s side that would make it difficult to implement?

There are times where I have a model with Arnold shaders and if I GoZ, it would basically replace with base lambert shaders and stuff. I would have to relink them and what not. It’s not too bad but when you have to GoZ 15+ subtools after a repose or something, it definitely eats up a lot of time.

Also, noticed a possible bug where creases on certain some triangles tend to disappear in the process of GoZing. I think it’s mainly the process from Zbrush to Maya, not the other way around. Not 100% certain on that but something that I notice a lot.

The Goz docs on your website say it is compatible with Maya 2022, but it does not work. Should if be working with Maya 2022 by now?

Hey there!

Is GoZ for Maya 2022 still not yet supported? I have been experiencing the same issue for many months now. Zbrush app fails to copy files and doing so manually only has the GoZ shelf appear in Maya but displays the following when attempting to send a geo:

" Error: file: C:/Users/Public/Pixologic/GoZApps/Maya/GoZBrushFromMaya.mel line 43: Plug-in, “gozMaya”, was not found on MAYA_PLUG_IN_PATH."

Any help out there?

GoZ for Maya 2022 has been supported for over a year (but you do need to have updated ZBrush).

GoZ for Maya 2023 has not been released yet.

Either way, the best way to get help is to start a new case at Pixologic Support.
