Gizmo, Move and rotate tool move independently of the object, help!

Hello, the object does not deform properly when I perform operations with Move Tool (Gizmo). It is as if he has set a focal point for another object and changes shape according to that focal point. In addition, when changing the positions of objects, the area with the arrow marks remains behind or ahead. It does not move forward with the object. How can I fix this?

I tried all the icons above with the Move and Rotate tool, but I couldn’t get any results.

Hi @gorselmuhendis

That’s because the Gizmo3D now incorporates the Focal Shift slider for deformations. Move Focal Shift slider to -100 for normal transformations.

Problem not solved. It didn’t happen. There are slips again. Is there any other solution?

Hello @gorselmuhendis ,

It looks like you have two separate issues in that video.

  1. The Focal Shift issue that ZBer explained.

  2. The orientation of your Gizmo manipulator. It is off-center and rotated off-axis which will cause a skew when scaling along an axis.

It automatically generates this issue when I add a cylinder while designing a model (Symmetry is on.). I never touched the focal point. If so, how do I recreate a tilt-focused focal point on a cylinder tilted 30 degrees? And why does this problem occur in the first place when I push the first roller?

How are you “adding” the cylinder? I can’t be certain from the video, but your manipulator does not look centered from the very start to me. In addition, at the very start of the video your manipulator is unlocked. If you drag on an unlocked manipulator you will change the position of the pivot.

Holding Alt while over the manipulator will unlock it. If you are using Alt to navigate you may be inadvertently re-orienting the manipulator when you attempt to drag on the scale controls.

Try this:

  1. select the cylinder primitive from the tool menu , and use “Make Polymesh 3d”

  2. Disable Perspective mode and Shift-lock the camera to an axis. Take care to note the lock status of the manipulator and attempt to scale it.

If this does not produce the issue, then the problem is something to do with either the geometry or the process by which you are adding the cylinder.

You can reset the manipulator orientation by unlocking it and pressing the circular arrow icon above it. However, if a mesh has already been rotated off axis it may no longer align with the manipulator.

I’ve shown it again below. When I change the direction of the object, there is no reduction or enlargement in the direction of the object.

You will be unable to use auto symmetry in this scenario. The transpose operation does not support simultaneous multiple independent centers for the purpose of scaling. Disable symmetry, perform the operation on one side and mirror the changes to the other.

This type of sizing can also be performed as part of the IM stroke itself with symmetry active. Drag out the cylinder to the end point you wish first, then begin dragging in the opposite direction to scale the width.

I remember what you said, but this has never happened before. Thank you.
