Hey all,
re-install your drivers with zbrush running. zbrush is dumb sometimes
Hmm, I gave it a shot but still nothing Zbrush recognizes that I have a tablet, the only thing is just the stupid pressure sensitivity not working…
Any other suggestions?
I have the same tablet and its works fine in ZB on XP. I suspect its a Vista/driver problem. Did you use it before on XP?
I once encountered the same problem with ZB when I plugged the tablet into my laptop’s USB port, only after I fired up ZB. The pressure sensitivity also did not work then. When I restarted ZB all was fine. Don’t know if this helps in any way.
Hope you find a solution soon
Yeah it works fine in XP on my laptop, it’s just stupid Vista (surprise, surprise) that seems to making it run funky. If I install the XP version of the tablet drivers and run ZBrush in XP compatibility mode, would that possibly fix the problem? I’m not sure how installing XP drivers on Vista works. Or if it even works
Your guess is as good as mine. Never tried Vista. Can’t help you there, sorry… Hope you find a solution. I know how frustrating it must be for you.
Has anyone found a fix to this? i just upgraded to vista and now my tablet isnt working, i need to get a solution to this. Could maybe zbrush 4 fix the problem when it comes out? I really need to find a solution, and none listed anywhere fixed it. Tablet use is toggled, i ran in xp compatibility mode, reinstalled tablet drivers over and over, and still nothing. Works in xp, not in vista, starting to really dislike vista.
Hi Folks, I had the problem for ages, I kept chnging the Z intensity all the time (thinking that was what you had to do!) anyway after much frustration here are the setting I use with my Genius pensketch 9x12:
USE TABLET - ON
Size sensitivity - .80
Z sensitivity - 1
Colour sensitivity - .95
Lazy pressure - 0.4
Tabley imbed - 0
Colour gradient - 0
These are the settings that seem to work for me, also try re-installing the driver, i know you’ve probably done that but do it anyway, I did that first before adjusting the settings. Also check the pressure settings via the Pensketch pressure setup first to get feel right first.
I know how frustrating this problem is, I love ZBrush and it’s been driving me crazy…but not any more!
Happy ZBrushing folks

I have the same tablet too ans the sensitivity works fine on Win XP X64
I think that vista has some problem with it.
Try to download the latest driver and the software from genius site
Try to plug the tablet before even opening the ZBrush application
Hey guys i’m still having problems with this, but its zbrush 3.5 now, i figured i’d try that out to see if the problem corrects itself but nope.
One thing i’d like to mention, i reinstalled my drivers and all that, but i’m getting the wintab services not available message when starting up zbrush and i cant enable or disable tab use.
