I am glad to make a new character with full body. I want to design a character who wears complex accessory and clothes. The hardest part of this character is concept design. Because this is the first time I design with myself. The concept of this character is based on future warrior, so the clothes are mental like and there have some glow lighting from it.
Use MAYA mental ray and render layer to combine final image in photoshop(300 image and each layer has 9 layers), you can also link to my site to see demo reel

Nice model, but I think you should put more of an investment into the materials and lighting.

the model is quite good but the render is pretty poor
rendering your models can be just as important as detailing them
mental ray is a very powerful rendering utility but you don’t seem to quite grasp the things you can do with it
i suggest looking deeper into mental ray by reading some guides or books
i’d offer more than that but i more often use Vray myself so my mental ray knowledge is slim, and what i do know is 3d max and not maya
the one thing i do know is that background is not flattering to your characters skin tone or the items she is wearing, it is very distracting and over powers the model
the model has really big problem, the form. actually the proportion is fine
but the face, and arms and feet somehow is too bumpy. The anatomy also has same problems. the female body should has beautiful curvly shape.
for the props of body seem not clean enoygh, seams of each part doesnt look clear and clean.
