FREE, Complete, Human Base Mesh

[baseAd.jpg]

Base Complete: Information This base Tool is provided for sculpting and painting convenience. I'm hoping that it will be of use to ZBrush novices and gurus alike. I am by no means an expert at creating base meshes or using edge loops successfully, but this is an all "quads", humanoid base Tool which I believe is basic enough to allow for smooth Sculpting and Polypainting, with a few added conveniences to assist in character creation. Following is a bulleted description of the contents of this .zip file and the purpose of each item. -baseTool.ztl: This is the ZBrush file for loading the base Tool to quickly get started sculpting and painting. The Tool is a composition of four subtools: the body, the mouth, the right eye, and the left eye. Each subtool has its own decent set of UVs laid out in Blender3d, and all major parts of each tool are already divided into Polygroups. -the body contains Polygroups for the head, inner eyes, inner mouth, right ear, left ear, torso, right arm, left arm, right hand, left hand--each finger on each hand is its own Polygroup, right leg, left leg, right foot, left foot--each toe on each foot is its own Polygroup. The body has 3 subdivision levels which were added after performing a Cage operation to maintain the overall shape of the inital base mesh. If you like the initial shape of the mesh, don't delete the upper Subdivision levels unless you know how to perform the Cage operation that was used. -each eye is a Subtool and didn't need to be polygrouped. The eyes have several subdivision levels which are simply used to display the Polypaint eye texture I created using a royalty free eye image found on imageafter.com, ZApplink with Photoshop CS3 Extended, and the Clr>Txr and Txr>Clr commands. If you do not like the texture you may delete the Higher subdivision levels, fill the object with the desired color from the Color pallette, and/or disable the Colorize option in the Texture pallette. The eye UVs are still intact. -the mouth contains Polygroups for the upper gums, the upper teeth, the lower gums, the lower teeth, and the tongue. The mouth has 3 subdivision levels which were added after performing a Cage operation to maintain the overall shape of the inital base mesh. If you like the initial shape of the mesh, don't delete the upper Subdivision levels unless you know how to perform the Cage operation that was used. Also included are the original .obj files for the body, mouth and eye(s), in case you must reload them to restore UVs after performing a Disable UVs in the Texture pallette. Warning: If you must reload the .obj for one of the Subtools, the polygroups will be lost, so try not to do this until you are sure you no longer need the assigned polygroups. The eye texture I created is included in this .zip as a .jpg file, if for some reason you need it to restore the eye Polypaint. -To check the UV set of any of the Subtools, perform a UV Check from the Texture pallette of the desired Subtool. All UVs should be intact. I hope this information is helpful. Please message me (smokebox46and2) or reply to the corresponding Post at ZBrushCentral if you have further questions. I will either answer you directly or update the information contained in this text.
