For Sale: Maya 8.5 Complete Educational Version

Hello Everyone. I have up for sale a brand new copy of Autodesk’s Maya 8.5 Complete Educational version. I am a recent graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design and I won this software as a prize for a project of mine that won best of show at SCAD. I have no real need for the software at this point because I will be using commercial software from now on.

This copy has never been installed and the serial number has never been used. The cheapest I could find it online was for $300 but I’d let it go for $250 to a member of ZBrushCentral before I decide to put it up on e-bay or something.

i already have maya unlimited 8 and its legit, but 8.5 has ncloth… educational just means you can’t use it in commercial projects?

He’s selling the Maya “Complete” educational version, not Maya “Unlimited”.
Not sure if that has nCloth or not, I don’t use Maya. :slight_smile:

So no, Complete does not have nCloth, sorry

Ebay apparently has issue with selling educational versions of software. The way I see it is that it’s mine, I haven’t installed it so no license issues, and as such I should be able to do whatever I want with it.

Forgot the name for it, but does thihs licence last forever or is it limited to a year or somthink? I know with max you can get both limited licence and unlimited time licence.

Unfortunatly for me I would need hair and cloth, is there a plug in for this version that can be perchased to get the missing features?

This is directly from the back of the case:

“This software is licensed subject to the license agreement that appears during the installation process or is included in the package.”

To me this means that I’d have to at least attempt to install the software to figure out what license type it is. I do not wish to even put the disc in my PC as it could raise doubt from any potential buyers.

If i’m not mistaken, Autodesk will not allow you to transfer a license of Maya

Yes, as I’ve said many times before the license was never used, the disc has never been in my PC, and autodesk doesn’t even know that I was the one that ended up with the copy so it is in no way associated with my name.

At any rate I sold this copy a few weeks ago and the person that bought it has had no issues at all.
