Extract command, export obj

Zbrush 5r6
Hi,
First of sorry for my silly questions, I’m a beginner, just started with Zbrush a few months ago.
In my learning process, trough GoZ, I import from Poser to Zbrush Victoria 4.

I try to make a simple clothes by “subtool>extract” command as you can see in the photo above.

As you can see in the two above pics the extract clothes is penetrating Victoria skin, I try to underline it in blu, half of the extract clothes tikness is penetrating the skin.
I use the extract command with default values, I just change the Thickness command “0.009” and “S smt” command (I tried to give values from default 5 to 20) all with same results, the extract mesh penetrates the skin.
What I’m doing wrong? How can I extract the mesh without penetration?

I try to export the extracted clothes as an obj to Cinema 4d.
Once in cinema 4d, as you can see in the above photo, I end up with an object divided in many groups, circle in red. Goz imported Victoria to Zbrush from Poser with default polygroups assigned. What I have to do in order to export an obj with only one group?

Thanks a lot for your help and sorry again for my silly beginner questions.

The reason you’re ending up with an exported obj that has many groups is because your imported mesh has many groups. If you want to export the extraction as a single group, go to POLYGROUPS in the TOOL menu and hit GROUP VISIBLE with the extraction as your active subtool.

Hope that helped.

Thanks a lot for your help,
really apreciated!
What about my first question about Extracted mesh is penetrating the skin?
Thanks a lot!

See if the DOUBLE button is on in the Extract options. If it is, turn it off - that may help. Otherwise, just adjust the thickness and apply some smoothing I guess. It never is an issue for me because I usually retopo my extractions in Topogun, so I end up only with what I need.

Thanks a lot Teyon,
I turn off the Double button as you suggested, it did the trick,
no penetration anymore!!!
really thanks!!!

Hi Tayon and everybody,
one more question related to my first one, export from Zbrush an obj ending up with many objects, one for each polygroup:
Uvmapper has a command that allow to weld all the split polygroups, it welds in one clik every overlaping vertex,
is it possible to achieve the same result with 3ds max, if yeas can you tell me how or could you be so kind to tell me another software able to do so?
Thanks a lot!

Under Polygroups, did you ‘group visible’ (assuming they all are). That may help.
