Edit Modes : 3D to 2.5D and back again?

If I have a model in 3D edit mode, and want to use a 2.5D brush like Eraser, how do I go back to 3D edit mode? Is there a way to switch back and forth?

Alternately, is there a way to Erase pixols in 3D mode, beside clip brushes, which are not exactly what I’m needing? Clipping just pushes the pixols, I want to erase them altogether.

I understand about Hide Pt. with masking, but is there a way to absolutely delete those points? I tried “Delete Hidden” but it always says nothing is hidden. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

You can drop the 3D model to 2.5D using projection master (click on projection master and choose the options you want and hit drop now) and use some of the 2.5D brushes; but erase won’t do what you want. When you want to go back to 3D mode just hit the projection master button ans select pick up now

For delete hidden to work you need to hide a portion of the mesh using control & shift with selection (either SelectLasso or SelectRect). It only works at the lowest subdivision level so delete higher or lower subdivisions or lower the subdivisions to 1 before using delete hidden. HidePt works the same way using a mask then delete hidden; make sure you are at the lowest subdivision level or delete the higher and/or lower subdivisions.

Thankyew very much, I would never have figured that out on my own!
