Edge selection methods

is there a way to make a selection set or select multiple edges individually? using control to add edges and alt to remove them from the selection set. this seem missing from zmodeler :frowning:

Hello @visual49,

When you want to isolate a specific set of edges for an operation, the usual way to do this is to mask them, then invert the mask (Ctrl-click in empty canvas space to invert mask). This will limit your operation to affecting only those edges, and whatever geometry ZBrush has to insert to force quads and tris.

Additionally, you can do interesting things with creasing and curves. The ZModeler Edge> Add to Curve operation will let you click on curves one by one to add them and create a curve. The curve will let you perfrom any functions that curves normally do along that section of mesh, and can also be set to bevel the selected edges.

An even faster way to do this is to use the Point> Crease> “Shortest Path” feature to quickly draw out a long, creased path along the desired edges, and then convert this to a curve with the Stroke> Curve Modifiers> Frame mesh with Creased option enabled. You can also do the same thing with masking With the Mask> Mask by feature (crease) function. These options can open up many other possibilities.

Thank you very much for the help. Hopefully they will add more functionality like Maya or 3dsMax.

Appreciate your helpl!!!
