Dynamesh suddenly makes my model transparent!

Hi all,
this is the third time this happens: I’m sketching in dynamesh, all is well, I do something “harmless” like in this latest case shaping the ears, I redynamesh and… my model goes almost transmarent and moirè!
I’ve tried changing the matcap, painting another material or color on it, everything seems to react ok… except my model is still transparent!

If anyone has an idea how to get out of this please tell me! (and yes of course I restarted zb, reinitialised it, saved and reopened the model, did a render, and my model seems to be transparent forever! help!)

many thanks to you guys for any info.

looks like a million little holes that sometimes occur when i am remeshing a very thin structure.
maybe this has to do with a previously used “create shell” or something like that?

Many thanks for your answer.
It occurs each time ten minutes after I start sculpting from a default dynamesh sphere. I didn’t use “create shell” or anything of the kind (I am not an advanced user! :-D) I only used move, standard, clay, smooth. A very standard “doodle” same story all three or four times it happened.

It’s an interesting effect but… I want my sculpt back!

I tried tweaking the display and matcap and material properties but nothing seems to bring things back to normal

I’ve experienced this, but for me it usually happened with a Dynamesh of an imported .obj.

My attention has been elsewhere for the last couple weeks so not much recent ZBrush use, but
I vaguely recall this problem showing up after multiple undos and redos, particularly if those undo/redos
contained a reDynamesh action.

The bad news is your ZB object is hosed, but if the file size isn’t too big, it might be worth sending to tech support.

Yeah, I’ve had this occur with thing objects. Obviously an undo is in order and you need to change things and try again until it doesn’t happen, I guess. Having worked with complex 3D applications for years, you’ll just have to accept a certain amount of unexpected things happening, it’s complex stuff.

That said, I’m sure Pixologic will find a fix for this problem in an update sometime.

Unfortunately undo doesn’t work - this is stuck as is.
I now save more strategically before doing redynamesh
I hope you are right and this will be address by pixologic

thanks for your post!
