dxf format

When is dxf export activated if I am Zsphering?
Since most of my professional work is done in Solidworks, I wonder why it imports dxf from Zbrush as flattened form, while Rhino takes it as 3d.
Is there a way for doing it right in Solidworks?

First, WELCOME to the Forum…! :+1:

I’m not familiar with the software you mention, but in order to export a DXF you look under Tools->Modifiers->Export, select DXF as the format, and click the export button…

I’m sorry if I misunderstood your question, but that’s how you export a DXF file…

Also, you can’t as far as I know export a ZSphere tool, only the ‘skinned’ version…

Zikit

You have to skin the ZSpheres first. you might want to look at the adaptive skinning because it lets you control the mesh much better then the other skin type.

So you skin the Zspheres then you will see a skined model of the ZSphere in your tools pallet. You draw that on your canvas and the dxf export will be avalible.

Thanks guys
Solidworks is for 3d mechanical design and have the option of importing dxf, but I didn’t get it in 3d, as in Rhino. Just hoped to skip the long way thruogh another application…
I will try again with skinned Zsphere.
