Drunk Elf!

Heres another fun little project Ive been working on in my freetime. The models were created in Maya and Detailed in Zbrush. About 90% of the texturing was done in zbrush, and the rest was done using zapplink and photoshop. I dont think I’ll be spending much more time on this project, but I do feel like its missing something. So, feel free to leave feedback.

Thanks

hahaha

thats 1 cool picture

if you say missing i agree the background is rather empty

maby do somethen with the background trees or add a bright purple sun in the background for the more lachoholic effect.

Lol! Really a nice image. :+1: If I would have to say anything it would be the background too, and maybe the fact that there’s a lot of specular on all the objects…

Oh, god no!!! Not those again!!! They told us we could have flashbacks when we got older, I should have listened! It’s been 30years and they just won’t go away! Don’t eat the mushrooms that grow on the cow patties they said. I should have listened.

I agree about the background.

Thanks guys. I agree about the background. Im just not sure what to add back there. I’m sure it’ll come to me after I have a few more mushrooms.
Just kidding =)
Thanks for the feedback,
Sparty

I think the proportions of your image are fighting the narrative.
Also some of the tones and saturations if altered would bring the the piece into a stronger harmony.

Also IMO get rid of the other two mushrooms.

It’s always a good idea to turn an image to black and white to help you judge lighting, tonality and where perhaps other issues may be.

Hope that is of help.

Fun image :+1: :+1:

i agree with boozy, there is too much work and love in the picture to not spend another few hours to get the colors and overall feel right. Maybe compare your image to pictures you like next to each other. The finish for a cg picture is often the place where you shape the composition to its final glory, very much like mastering in audio production. It would make a huge difference !

Boozy: Thanks for the advise. Im a big fan of your work, and view your feedback as if it was gold =)

Erklaerbar: Thanks for the pointers. Audio scares me! =)

I probably wont be able to get to this until the weekend, but I feel rejuvinated after all the great advise.

Thanks,
Eric
