Does ZBrush have an eyedropper tool?

I try not to ask questions that I can find the answers to on my own.
There is a wealth of material available.
The easy and lazy method is just to drop the question here and hope.
As far as I have been able to find out, there is nothing for what I believe is a simple question.
In most photo and other programs there is a tool called an eyedropper which is used quite simply to sample and duplicate colors.
When coloring (or texturing ) a face for instance, a multitude of colors are used for shading skin etc. Is there any way that a color can be selected, used, and reselected exactly ( like eyedropper).
I realize the ability to create a specific color is there by way of the rgb selector.
But is there any eyedropper type tool.
My thanks

Hi Rtyer
Just Shift + Clic on the palett and goto any where on the Canvas
You will have the color in the Palette

I never said I was the smartest kid on the block.
Can’t get it.
I paint something, select second color, paint CTL+click on original color, palette still stays the same Paint canvas. no change in color.
Do not say stupide(if you wish to do so in
French it is permitted}
Thank you

I may have asked the question incorrectly.
I paint on the canvas a color, I switch to another color,I wish to go back to the exact (exact)first color.
In other words sample from the canvas to the palette not vice versa.
I wish to select a color from the canvas and duplicate it exactly.(eyedropper)

Hi Rtyer
it’s that I say
Eye droper for a color on the canvas to the palett
Wait a minute I shall try on Zbrush

My thanks as per usual.
Life will be a little easier now.
If you knew how many times I have had to start things over because of this you would laugh yourself to sleep.
Try not to make up for three days in one.
Nice to have you back!!
( it would have been nice even without the help)

You actually have a few options.

Pressing “C” will select the unshaded color below your cursor.

Clicking on the color selection box or the color either patch in the Color palette and dragging onto the canvas will also select the unshaded color. You can also do this with the color patch in the Picker palette.

Holding the Alt key while you drag out from any of the patches will select the shaded color instead of the unshaded. It won’t work with the C key, though (that’s the shortcut for opening and closing the Color palette itself).

Many thanks, again I have a problem expressing myself.
I make a model and wish to color in flesh tones which can vary to a lot of shades, all of which look the same on the palette.
What I wish to do is to go to the canvas ( not the Palette) and duplicate exactly the color shade I have previously used.
The same function as in Photoshop’s eyedropper
Canvas to Palette.
What I have been doing so far is to go to Photoshop ( I have created a flesh Palette)
and see the rgb composition and than dial it into zbrush.Than use the various brushes to blend and shadow it.If you make no mistakes, fine and good,if not you basically have to start the whole thing over.
If you try to shade under the eye with a small variation you will end up with someone looking like they were on a bender.
Thnx again.

rtyer: if the final pic will be 2D, an illustration - why then bother with coloring in ZBrush? Really no offense to anybody here, but I found that at least the finetuning of color and textur outside ZBrush a lot easier - no matter if you use PS or Painter or…!?

I understand what you’re looking for, and the methods I described above will do exactly that. The unshaded RGB selection will give you the exact color that was initially used, regardless of how that color has been modified by the rendering engine to create the shaded RGB. So if you’ve painted something with one shad of fleshtone and later wish to recall that exact color, just drag from the color selector onto the spot with the color you want to sample. The values will be set for you automatically.

In fact, you could import your flesh colors image, apply it to a plane, then draw it on a blank spot on the canvas to sample from that when needed. I believe you could even place a marker for it after it has been drawn to recall it later with two clicks of the mouse.

Terrific,seems petty but was annoying.
If I missed it in the literature:sorry to bother.
