They have a new ZB3 Tute disc over at Digital tutors.
Looks like two of 'em. Shipping Monday the 11th.
I’m not a fan of their ZB2 intro – they treated the program as a Maya plugin, and taught you to endure the interface rather than embrace it. I felt that this approach could only stunt your growth as an artist, and was personally thankful I’d had other training elsewhere before I viewed it.
Having said that… My first impression of the new titles is very positive. I think ZBrush itself has changed to better match their teaching style, and it feels like their guy “gets it” this time around.
I can’s say much more from just looking at the website. But, I’m optimistic about these, and that’s saying a lot.
I’ve seen the Digital Tutors intro to Zbrush 3 DVD.
Excellent package. I’d give it a 9/10 for the beginner.
Hi, bought the training Videos on E-download.
Very good for beginners like me. One comment though, would like to have had a how-to file on who to make a DVD to play on players other than my computer. Maybe an ISO in the future.
But on the whole, I would say a good B+ on the training videos. They dont go too far into real modeling, thats for their other DVD.
Will most likely pick that one up when I feel confident in my basic skills.

I’m pretty sure Digital Tutors uses the Ensharpen Codec from Techsmith to make their training very sharp in a relatively small amount of space. Since ensharpen isn’t built into ordinary DVD players, they usually can’t be played on them. Since I like to watch my training materials on my TV too, I usually hook my laptop up to the TV to watch. That may be your best solution. (You might be able to transcode DT’s training to the MPEG2 format DVDs expect, but it’s probably more trouble than its worth. )

Its amazing how people would freak at the zbrush interface, because it wasnt just like other windows, I for one have been a windows user for like over 20 years, Im pretty much ready to embrace some other way of doing things. zbrush is a refreshing change.
The interface is alot diffrent from 3 to 3.1 making these videos mostly theory. It will be able to do all the stuff they do but you will have to peck around to figure out where stuff is. I wouldn’t sugest the early zbrush 3 videos to a true beginner.
It took there maya to z2 tutorial to finally get me me to understand how to do displacements. Some things are just easier to understand when you see it being done.
I have been using the same video to use MD3.
I havent tried gnomon though–but for just understanding the technology I like DT. Good instructors.
They just released a new 3.1 video that focuses on textures and displacements–zmmaper and the exporter.
Good thing I didnt get that 3.0 video right away.
