I remember this from the 1.23->1.50 update… For whatever reason I wound up trying to get a valid download two or three times, and Digital River soon said something along the lines of, “You’ve downloaded it 12 times already, chill out!” and wouldn’t let me get it anymore.
The culprit turned out to be a download accellerator (Speed Download on OS X in my case), which is a downloader app that intercepts Web downloads and uses multiple, parallel connections to get higher download speeds. Apparently DR had interpereted each connection as a separate download, and I used up my initial allocation of attempts with only a couple of tries.
It might be a good idea to disable any download accellerator you might be using, just in case something goes awry. Speed Download lets you manually add a new download and specify the number of connections to use…1 connection just worked fine for me.
HTH!
