Hello,
I am working with an imported obj but i want to remove the polygroups from the base mesh, is there anyway to do this?
Go to the lowest level of subdivision, and hide the polygons you wish deleted. Then go to the Geometry palette and hit “Delete Hidden”. You may wish to mask the remaining mesh first, to keep the smoothing that results from this process from altering your mesh slightly.
Alternately, you can split the polygroup off into a subtool, and delete that subtool.
[edit] Unless I have misunderstood, and you wish to simply remove the poly grouping, and not delete any actual geometry. In which case, go to “Polygroups” in the Tool Menu, and hit "Group Visible, with the entire mesh visible. That will turn it into a single polygroup.
If you wish to delete certain poly groups then you can hide them and in the geometry section chose delete hidden. If you wish to remove all the defined poly groups on a mesh and make it a single poly group then just select group visible in the poly group window.
Thanks,
yes I have a head base mesh that has eyes and a tongue polygroup that i dont want. So how do i select an individual polygroup?
Scott, Thank You!!!
