change default brushes settings?

Hi,

I’ve been using zbrush for many years and one thing I keep doing over and over again each time I open zbrush is to change all the settings of the brushes I use (change strength, remove lazymouse function, etc.).

Is there a way I can change the default brush settings so I don’t have to do it everytime I open zbrush?

You can tweak your brush and save a copy as your brush. A custom UI is also an option.

What you could do is first, make a backup copy of all the brushes in ZBrush4R4/ZData/BrushPresets folder to a new folder. Just in case you change your mind later. Then just overwrite the default brushes in the ZBrush4R4/ZData/BrushPresets folder with your settings. When you go to save the brush, ZBrush will add a suffix to the file name as a precaution from overwriting the originals. Remove the suffix first if you don’t want duplicated brushes.

Two .txt files. Put in Macros/Misc. Edit to suit.
