Well ive created a creature in zbrush and now i wanna export it to Maya. But when i import my model in maya my model is lost in space.
I have to change my cameras too able to see my model. I whant to center my model so that when i export it to maya it is in center of my world. What would be the best way to do this?
By default, the model should come into Maya at the center. ZBrush exports the model using the model’s rotational center. So whatever the rotational center is in ZBrush (which by default is the geometric center), that’s the point that should be placed at the 0,0,0 point in Maya. If something different is happening, then it would have to be based on settings somewhere. To help with that, people would need to see a screen of what’s happening, and to know what version of Maya you’re running.
Im sorry Aurick i wrote wrong in my first post.
I created my base mesh in maya. And well i exported it from maya when my model was way of center in maya.
But i dident think of that as modelling in zbrush still worked like it should (Not going too do mistake ever again ). But now when i try too center my model as i whant it too be centered i cant. I export my lowest subdivision from zbrush and then try too center it in maya and then export it back too zbrush. The model moves in space as it should but when i try too switch betwen subdivision levels this happens.
Here are two ways to center the model in ZBrush:
- Press Tool>Deformation>Unify. This cannot be undone.
- Or press the S.Pivot button the right shelf. This will center the model’s rotation, symmetry, etc. based on the visible polygons. Press C.Pivot later to return to how the model was originally.
