Captain Archibald Haddock

Hey! This is my interpretation of Captain Haddock from Tintin. We had to model him last year in one of our classes and I decided to make a new one to see the progress.

The skin part is made from a basemesh but all the rest was modeled with shadowbox. Hope you like it!

looks great. personally, i find the ear is strange but can’t fault it perhaps it’s too big. otherwise, no crit. great sculpt.

Fantastic work, love the skin detail and the hair came out great!

About the ears, I agree with GX that something is slightly off but I don’t think it’s their size. Especially from the front view you can see that the entire length of the helix, antihelix, and lobes all fall on more or less the same plane, which to me feels unnatural. Perhaps play with adding some variation to the ear’s silhouette from the front.

Yeah I know what you mean with the ears, but still, an ear can be flat sometimes.

how did you get so much poly resolution in the beard. I mean I’m pretty sure you used an alpha brush, but still how many divisions of poly resolution is that? looks like a crap-ton of poly’s.
