Hello. I’ve been sculpting some facial expressions and all of a sudden I realized that the first two layers functions are greyed out and I cannot record on them. I’m afraid I’ve messed it up but I cannot figure out why this is happening. Including an image with the grayed out layer setting.
The Record button is in the layer beside the layer name. It’s the button beside the little eye icon.
Thank you. Yes. I know. On two of my layers when I press the record button it turns off as I release the mouse button. These layers also have grayed out properties as seen in the image.
I’m also reproducing this bug. Click on record and it immediately stops recording on mouse up.
Have tried hacky workarounds like releasing mouse off-screen or after alt-tabbing to no avail.
UPDATE: For what it’s worth, I’m guessing this bug arose because I messed around with subdivision levels after making the layer. I had to delete the layer and start over, but now I seem to be able to enable/disable recording with no issue.

For anyone with this bug / issue, or future me, THIS IS NOT A BUG, but, VERY BAD UX.
This record button is trolling you because it is waiting for you to try while in maximum subdiv level. Until then it will toggle off on release.
