Boba Fett, the most notorious Bounty Hunter in the galaxy; who went out like a joke…
Created using ZBrush and 3ds Max. The plan is to create a game ready character model from this sculpt. Trying to be as accurate as possible; there are still a few details to work out. The Jet Pack isn’t quite right and I’m sure there are a few other things. My process so far has been quickly building up Boba Fett’s forms in ZBrush using dynamesh and some quick sculpting with insert mesh brushes, clay tubes, hard polish, and clipping brushes. Once I have the basic forms built up I then bring the sculpt over the 3ds Max to make a much cleaner geometry. Then brought the new geometry back to ZBrush to add additional details. I will also be using the new topology created in 3ds max as the final model that will be used for map baking from finished sculpt. I will be using Substance Painter when the time finally comes to texture the model. The renders below were all done using Keyshot.
Critique welcome. Especially from Star Wars fans:D

Finally finished him up. Would really like to show this with 4k texture maps but the load times would suck.
Created using ZBrush, 3dsmax, and Substance painter.
Rendered in Vray for 3ds max and composited in photoshop. Ive been working on his for a while now. I dont really have much experience using VRay and would very much appreciate some feedback on this. Was really trying for a photo-realistic look.
If you were going for photorealism then I would say you definitely succeeded! This is off the chain dude. I think the only thing you could do to the last shot to make him look more like he’s in the scene is paint some of the same coloured dirt/sand around the bottom of his boots. You could probably just do it in photoshop rather than re-texturing I imagine.
Again, great work, love Boba Fett.
Great idea! Thank you
Nice job on this!
I agree with smallrobot and you could also put him in more of an atmosphere. Everything is too crisp and clean. He’s out in a dessert, I’d put some dust particles floating around. Just some little noise. That will also have him look like he’s in the HDRI a lot better.
Added in some film dust and made his shoes a bit dirty. Thank you for the tips. What do you think?
Wow, nice job, looks like a photo
I love all the details, wear & tear, dirt, very cool piece
~ Cheers
As someone new to ZBrush, you inspire me. I hope one day to come close to your ability. As someone who’s worked in movies, and spent time in the desert, I would say the addition of the dust on the feet was a good touch, but the distressed photo look doesn’t work. Deserts actually do look crisp and clean like your original render. The new image loses the real look, in my opinion. Great job!
Thank you
Sterling job on this. I can see how much time and effort you’ve put in. He looks great in the environmental render.
Nailed it, he really feels part of the scene now. I do like the dust and stuff on the image like an old photo, I think it suits it as the movies are from the 70’s and it kind of gives it that old photo quality.
Thanks everyone! Means a lot.
Intended to share these a while ago. He is intended for Real-Time. So here are some wire-frame renders.
