Best 3D Printer?

Hello everyone, I was taking a look at the forum and saw tons of good works and I’m wondering what’s the best 3D printer for this kind of work, like toys or etc… I have some projects of my own and I want to buy a 3D printer, if theres anyone who can help me abouyt the printer I would be glad.
Thx,
Dupid.

Ohhh, almost forgot, if there’s no porblem I would like to know the price of each 3D printer… Thx.

the Envisiontec & Objet machines are the best for small high-detail models because the print resolution they can achieve. You’re looking at many 10’s to 100’s of thousands of US dollars. The low end/DIY (i.e. Makerbot & ReRap) & other fused depostition modeling (FDM) machines have miserable resolution & are not really suitable for printing high-detailed models. There’s a few now on the market around $20K or under that may be worth a look (3D System’s VFlash, Objet 24 & 30, & the ZCorp machines). Things are always changing & new technology seems to happen overnight so stay tuned, Good Luck!

we use them all the time to build our models…

they are fast honest and good…

FYI…use the HR machine

they look like they do great work as well but if you intend to paint the models after printing beware of the Invision HR machine. It uses a wax based support material that makes paint not want to stick to the model. Also, the Objet & Envisiontec machines are much better resolution.

example:
Invision HR spec’d @ 656x656dpi in X&Y & 800dpi in Z layer thickness
Objet Eden spec’d @ 600x600dpi in X&Y & 1600dpi Z axis (.0006" Z layer thickness)
Envisiontec Perfactory Mini Multi Lens is the best in my opinion with an astounding 1400x1050dpi in X&Y axis & .0006" Z layer thickness

The Z axis resolution (horizontal layer thickness) is the most critical for highly detailed models to avoid “stair step” effect. You can see that the Objet & Envisiontec Z resolution are twice the Invision. Problem with the EnvisionTec machines is they are hard to find service bureaus running them.

You might consider the 3DP (Z-Corp) product as with a 10"x16"x8" build size and a 0.0035" step size, a little surface prep goes a long way.

Also, the plaster like surface takes paint/primer very well. True the roughness may be an issue, but it may also be just the texture you want. Lightly sanded it can become very smooth.

We’ve been working with one for a couple of years now and have gotten results that look even better than the manufacturer’s demo parts.

I’ve been molding 3d printed pieces for the toy industry (mainly Hasbro) for the past 5 years and can tell you the best machine for the money is the Envisiontec Mini multi lens by far. You can mold directly off of printer with a Tin based silicone. It’s pricey at just under $100K US. But nothing comes close to the detail finish. I’m waiting for mine at the moment, it’s built only when ordered. I will be offering service to the public also with this machine, but on a limited time schedule. I researched these machines for over a year and still have every salesperson from all the other printers calling me!
