Hi fellow brushers, this is actually my first post on Zbrush central!

Here’s a bunch of renders for the Aughra collectible sculpt that I made for Weta workshop, based on the amazing Dark Crystal Netflix show. (Zbrush and Keyshot renders) So much fun to sculpt! and they actually used my digital sculpt (with less texture) for a statue in the open scenes. I’d also like to credit Russ Lukich who sculpted the puppet face for the show. I had a scan of her head to start me off but obviously had to do a bit of expression work and details that would read at 1/6th scale.

And this is what she looks like, 3d printed, molded, cast and painted by Carl Lum. [https://www.wetanz.com/shop/figures/mother-aughra](https://www.wetanz.com/shop/figures/mother-15754876742ebbab207952acaae9febb0fbd24cf09

A warm welcome to the forum Gary and fabulous first post.:+1:
May I ask at what stage of creation do you set the pose - before detailing, or is the fine detailing carried in subdivision?

Hi Boozie, thanks. Well In this case I made a quick t-pose model for some sketch poses. When we determined the seated pose I went back to the T-pose to progress certain details such as hands hair and some costume elements. I then re-posed the figure more accurately and worked on the rest of the texture and details at high subdivisions. I made the hair in a lot more strands than I usually do because of the tangled curly mess, so every time I moved the head even a bit I had to lay the strands down naturally on her shoulders… etc.

Some models can have a lot more of the work and texture done in the T-pose stage. But If I’m making an energetic piece leaping around I often sculpt all the fabric folds once I have locked down the pose.

Cheers, Gary
