Alien Sketch

I got an opportunity to work in zbrush yesterday for a few hours, so I thought I would post the results. It’s nothing great, but I haven’t posted anything for awhile so I’m hoping this will get me back into the habit

Great design as usual.
The details are really suggesting the creepy-famine-vicious personality behind the character.
As for the eyes, i love the repeatitive edges folding to form the ears …
Nice transition !

Keep it up !!!

I get lost in those details, you are a brialliant Z artist. I love it:cool:

I personally beleive the design of the sillouette could use some work, but thats me, i say that to everyone.

Its your strokes that really make it for me( so clean, crisp, and confident), care to share your brush?

like the sculpt …cool job there …

Hey madmac, love your style and workflow. Keep up the great work.

Very nice modeling and design, the brush strokes are well placed, good stuff.

Thanks everyone! Sorry it took me so long to respond, I got caught up doing to contract work. Anyway here is a textured version.

Mikeporetti - I just use the standard brush… nothing special, though I will occasionally use the “Lazy Mouse” feature. It really helps with the long strokes (doing stuff like that used to be a lot more work before Z3 came out).

Thanks again everybody!

sweet stuff as usual!
i reeally like the way your surfaces look.
if you’ll ever get to do a video of it, please share. i would love to see it:D

Very nice Jeff,
I love your sculpting style and bought your -sketching with Digital Clay: A Monster Head- vid at gnomonology a few days ago … awesome movie.

Cheers
Lucky

Love the feeling of your models. Brilliant amount of detail and form :+1:

I said it before, I’ll say it again. I love your controlled and minimal use of detail. So nice to see something focusing on shape more than putting pointless wrinkles and grain all over the place. You stuff ends up looking way more natural than those, which everyone could learn something from.

Keep it up your style is instantly recognizable.

As Always… Great Mood! I like it!!! :sunglasses: :+1:

Thanks everyone!

abyss103 - thank you, unfortunately I didn’t record this one. I do have one on the gnomonology site if your interested.

Lucky_1 - Thank you, I’m really glad you liked it! They’re asking me to make another one… is there anything in particular you would want to see? I can try to show it in the new one? I was planning on modeling a fish and really focusing on the micro architectures and subtle plane changes.

brettSinclair - Thanks a lot man!

Art-Machine - Thats a terrific compliment man, thank you very much!

piz - THanks!

Here’s one I was started last night… not sure I’ll finish it, but I thought I would post it anyway.

Thanks again everyone

Hi Jeff,
Thanks,
I think that the subject does’nt matter much as long as the final sculpt looks appealing/beautiful/…
But If I had the choice…I would like to see a full character like your game character Wik, the Birdman, maybe that nice alliendude above… that’s alot more work of course.

Lucky

Lucky_1 - You got it, I’m just about done with it

Here is a different character I’ve been working on, unfortunately I didn’t record this one. Anyway I hope you guys like it

Awesome. The detailing is precise. My only problem is the eyes. No eyelids?

very nice…:+1:

Very nice modeling and design I love your sculpting style and bought your -sketching with Digital Clay :+1:

I just love the subtle surfacing you do. truly masterful.

I’m working on it … one day maybe I’ll get it into my work.

thanks,
tomas

T.S.Wittelsbach - thanks! It’s not too difficult, just remeber to get the larger forms worked out first then start drawing in the details, refining edges, creating new ones… etc

3Dartist_ObbiThailand - Thank you very much. I hope you found the tutorial useful.

brettSinclair - thanks… yeah eyelids… A friend of mine actually pointed that out to me and I completely forgot to address it before I posted these images. I did fix it this morning though, thanks for pointing it out  .

Here are a couple more screen captures with eyelids, I was running out of polys and my machine was crawling but hopefully the problems is fixed… I also took screen capture of a close up of the back.
