Alien Bounty Hunter

Been working on and off on this guy for the past 2 months here and there. It started with a nice base model from HYDE in the challenges section. Then I started working with skin materials and lighting for that second month. The first image is 2 ZBrush renders composited together in Photoshop. Once I get this guy finished, I’ll post the material and lighting settings. Prolly within the next week or two.

I kinda set aside my dragon project for the time being while I think about what I want to do with it. Meanwhile, I think this guy is pretty interesting. He’ll be a bounty hunter, but not Star Wars type. More like Serenity(Firefly), kinda old west futuristic style.

A little early too judge to much. But he seems a little too puffy now. And I think the seam in the mouth could be softened toward the bottom of the upper lip for more gradual transistion into the mouth. I don’t really understand the structure of the skull yet either at this stage. It seems like that could be refined more.

KrackenCMT,

I like your latest image of your alien. It has a nice design and definite shape. The muscle masses I feel seem to support the overall structure. I somewhat agree with womball about the skull. Meaning it appears somewhat soft, hard to tell much without a side and maybe a back image of the head. Maybe the ridges you have on top could help to give the skull more solid state if inflated/refined a bit more. Keep the sloped back type of skull design as I think it gives your alien personality and form just something to add lil hardness to it and maybe volume in the back of the head. Looking forward to more updates! Keep working hard :+1: :+1:

Thanks for the crits guys!

I’ll keep those suggestions in mind as I continue with him. I have to find a happy medium somehow as I like the “puffy” nature of him somewhat. But a better underlying structure would definately help.
