Ive got my 3dConexxion week ago and works fine, only there is one problem with zbrush. There is only one possible option in zbrush menu about it - PREFERENCES/3DMOUSE/USE 3DMOUSE! Once i assigned keys, for the first time, (2 buttons on compact model) as shortcuts for mask and smooth, i wanted actually to change that one is smooth and the other alt (inverse operation). THERE IS NO WAY i could do it anymore. Reinstalled zbrush, reinstalled 3dconnection drivers (with Revo uninstaller - deep cleanse of traces after standard uninstall) and nothing changed! Entering zbrush again, i have found that buttons on my 3dMouse are still assigned to smooth and mask! I found that 3Dconnection general settings in windows does not have option to assign buttons individually to desired software, like Wacom have for example - bad really. Is there anyway a could reassign buttons now in Zbrush or the only option left is to reinstall complete windows, which i cant do just for that!?
Have you got the 3DConnexion 3DxWare application? Download from 3DConnexion if not. I have a 10 year old spacemouse (same as the current compact version) and I was able to change button settings through the 3DxWare app. If I had the 3DxWare properties window open I could change them at will while Zbrush was running. Couldn’t make the 3DxWare app save the settings though. Don’t think that has anything to do with ZBrush. I’m running Windows 10. Actually I don’t use the mouse right now so I just wanted to start it up to investigate the problem you’re having. Anyway hth. Hope you solve your problem.
3DxWare - Yeah i have that, its part of the driver package, woudnt work otherwise at all, i think. “If I had the 3DxWare properties window open I could change them at will while Zbrush was running.” - that helped. I figured it out, as you said, if you want to assign buttons for certain particular software only, you gotta have active/opened that same particular software and than open 3DxWare settings. Thx, cheers mate, noice!
Cool. Good to know that’s how it works. Might need to look into setting mine up for Zbrush. Cheers.
