here is something else I’ve been working on…this is not the final render…
hey man not bad
Heres the things that pop into my eyes right away.
The fingertips look to thin almost like he held them into an pencil sharpener.
The bulge on his elbow looks to big compared to his upper arms.
Also the lower arm may be a tad to long? Mayber you should the transpose
the arm down to his hip and see how far it will reach and adjust it.
The seam on his leg where the folds meet the lines going down seems to be
a bit offset maybe? Thats just nitpicking tho and wouldnt be seen
in a real time game enviroment.
Would be nice if you posted a wireframe shot to see how dense the real
time mesh is. As for now the only thing thats looking low is the straps
at his hip.
cheers
thanks…well it’s normal for the fingertips to seem thinner since he’s wearing cut off gloves…same for the bulge at the elbow since his sweater is bunched up in that area…and the arm length is correct…believe me it’s been checked several times lol…thanks for the crit!!
Fingers look fine, Arms look fine, elbow bulge could be a little less predominant. Nice Maquette.
thanks man!
Looks good, I like clothing design, different to what you see around.
Disco Stu Most of your crits dont seem to be correct lol.
If you found his fingers to be to skinny on the tips, then why didnt you see his wrists are too thin lol.
Also its good to keep his elbow bulged there since, helps his elbow keep its volume when rigged.
I would only say his wrists are tad bit too thin.
Nice!!!
Face looks blurry? hmm
Whats so lol about all that? If i hadent started criting in any way this would
have just been a standard “good work” “keep it up” thread this way there
may be some input. You should think before u post.
The bulge for bending thickness within the rig makes sense to me.
You should look at your own hands and youll see that your fingers will never
look like these. I didnt say it because of the gloves but seen by the midfinger
section. The tips just dont get that thin in relation
Cool design/colors for the outfit, well done.
Like your style dude!
final render…
Hair is not zbrush, right? You’re making it for animation I presume. I’ve seen that hair in a 3D animation programs is a struggle for a lot of artists, not myself though because I don’t know a first thing about it
Nice work!
pretty cool work mate.
the overall piece looks fine to me. nothing to crit really. but this character looks kinda plain a bit. theres nothing that really grabs my attention. its like one of those background characters you see in a game thats like " oh, he is there… well moving on…"
not trying to knock it man, just givin my two cents
all the best
nerveink
Very impressed with the hair. The growth direction looks very natural. I can’t think of a game character i’ve seen that has such a believable haircut.
Show the textures and wireframe sometime.
Also more polished lighting would really sell this guy, something with more interesting colours like the usual blue back/rim light and slightly sunny main light. Right now the simple white lighting is weakening the presentation, i think.
Some more thoughts on the hair. I think it doesn’t match the model, it isn’t on the same level as hair, or vice versa. Also, from the back looks like he’s wearing a toupe. I don’t mean to be rude, hoping to help, if I fail and you find yourself offended you can always take a dump on my work
I re rendered it this time with the changes in color for the lights like you suggested and it looks better!
looks cool for so far but i think the fingertips are a little too thin ?! look at yours and you’ll see the fingertips have to be thicker. i like this one much more than the 3rd character so go on with this and make it perfect look.
