ZSpheres. Xres Yres Zres ?

Hi. I want to create a quadruped creature, but even after going through a couple of threads on ZSpheres I still can’t figure out how Xres Yres and Zres for Zspheres work, and how I could use the settings in the transform menu ( attached experiment screegrabs ) to create five new Zspheres out of one ZSphere.

Please have a look at the screengrabs. I basically want to split Spheres 2 and 3 into five zpheres to make the toes of the creature. Unless I make appropriate settings the mesh gets distorted. I believe a lot of people face a similar problem while creating a base mesh using ZSpheres. I will really appreciate it if I could get some help and guidance on this. Thanks.

The settings must be adjusted BEFORE drawing the ZSphere that will use them. Once a ZSphere is drawn, the ires settings for that ZSphere cannot be changed.

You might also try using Tool>Adaptive Skin>Ires. This setting can be changed at any time. Lowering it will allow you to have multiple children on the same face of the parent.

Thanks Aurick. I was hoping that you would read my question, and you did. I read through so many threads but perhaps i never quite grasped it. But now I know what to do.Ires is a simple thing ,but it is absolutely necessary to know it. Thanks a ton.
