Zmodeler menu location

When using the zmodeler brush, the polygon action menu is appearing at the top of my screen. More specifically the bottom of the menu is at the top of the screen, making almost everything in the menu offscreen.

I have tried a few suggestions offered (changing resolution and changing button size) with no success. I’m oping some kind soul can offer a solution.

Thanks in advance

Hi! Are you talking about the mesh selection window that appears for any brush with an IMM component? Or is it the action menu that appears when you press shift with Zmodeler that is appearing off screen?

Could we see a screenshot of your issue, along with Zbrush version, OS, and the screen resolution you’re running at?

The ZModeler brush Polygon Action menu appears where your mouse’s at. Move the view up (Alt+Right Click) until the quad you want to take actions on is located close enough to the top of the viewport. This will give you better chances to get the full menu.
But honestly if you had a proper screen monitor (27 inches or more) and a resolution of 1920x1080 this kind of problem would literally never happen.
Best option if reducing icons and fonts didn’t help : buy a new screen :wink:

I’m referring to the menu that appears when you press SPACE or right click when hovering over a polygon face. I’m including a picture to illustrate the issue.

Your screen resolution doesn’t look like it’s sufficient. Minimum is 1280x1024.

There is an upgrade available.

Oh okay. I like to keep my res low for my bad eyes, but it’s nice to know the solution.

Thanks

Sad. I just installed the update to 2019.1.2 and nothing has changed. My ZModeler menu install off the top of the screen. Is the only solution to work at a higher resolution? I’m on a laptop. :frowning:

@teruchan

The recommended spec for Zbrush is a 1920x1080 monitor or larger.

You can scale the interface elements down with the Preferences > Interface > UI > Button Size Slider, but there’s no guarantee it will fix your issue if you are running the software below the recommended specs. Software running below recommended spec should be expected to encounter performance issues.

I raised my resolution to 1440x900 and this fixed my issues. It’s a good compromise between tiny UI elements and getting everything I need on the screen, as opposed to going to 1600x1200 or something. I never ran into a problem until I started using ZModeler. It’s just the top line or two that is off the top of the screen.

Thanks this fixed my problem.
