just a quick qestion that has been bugging me for about 4 years now, is it zbrush, pronounced zee or zbrush pronounced zed, or is it one of those depends where you come from things? I’m from australia so its usually zed brush for me but i guess the americans call it something different.
“Zedbreuche”
Most of my friends here in America usually pronounce it…ZeeMazeing.
I believe, all kidding aside, in the UK and Down under you use Zed, and we in the States typically use Zee.
Word.
“Doctor Zee” Brush.
You can all feel free to strangle me now.
With his Assistant Mini-Zee!

In Zedbreuche I believe the ‘d’ is silent?
As a fellow Aussie, I proclaim that I too say “Zed Brush”
BTW, how do you pronounce that one frenchy?
Frenchpeople said in french
“ZEDE…BREUCHE”
The “Z” is more Zed"e"
Pilou
Listen the file linked
In english I don’t prononce because I don’t speak english
Now you can make a re-mixed song with it surely a great Hit 'ch)
Doesn’t Pixologic have ‘Z-ing is Believing’ or something like that in their ads? So that would probably make ZeeBrush the official pronounciation (?).
Incidentally, I usually pronounce it that way, too. Dunno about the other users whose first language is German, though.
There is no ‘d’ in Zebra.
I say “Zed Brush” being Canadian but I am starting to like the “Zedbreuche”
There is no ‘d’ in Zebra
It’s just french phonetic (like this french movie, prononced “ZEDe”(with a little e expired )
thanks for the file frenchy i am goona look so classy at partys now
Hey guys,
I believe in this instance when the word is a name, and therefore would be pronounced “Zee Brush”. Region is irrelevant in the case of names (i.e. Stephan or Stephen can be pronounced either way for both names, at the discretion of the person).
Point and case - The band name “ZZ Top”. You would not pronounce it “Zed Zed Top” because it is their name, their location does not matter!
The final nail in this coffin comes directly from PixolLogic themselves, with their “Zee-ing is believing” advertising campaign.
Im an Australian living in Canada, so I have experienced both sides of this coin. ZeeBrush Baby!
the idea of pronouncing it ZedBrush never even occurred to me… probably because I’ve (unfortunately) never escaped the U.S.
Well yes that, and most likely you are educated above a 6th grade level
It’s called Da’Brush here in Brooklyn…
Don’t make me call it ZeeBrush, or I’ll have to replace it with MeeBox.
It’s one of the the most American pronunciation foibles out.
this reminds me:
“i would like a polish sausage”, “i would like to polish a sausage”
