ZBrush begins to very slow down to around 200k polygons in model. Please tell me what could be the reason? Too low hardware, or something else?

Is there anyone alive?
Hi,
is this happening only with zBrush ? Or with other 3d application ?
Is your OS updated ?
Your graphic card too ?
What is the setup of your graphic card (if nvidia then nvidia control panel): I mean is the default setup or is it tweaked ?
I suggest (after creation of restauration point),
to make it as default setting (in the case it had been changed).
About zBrush, is it default settings or had it been changed ? I suggest to make it default.
After all that, maybe check the health of your disk (where zbrush is), or and your system in general.
ps: I have athlon 64*2 - 4gb ram - low/old graphic card:nvidia 9500gt - Windows Seven64bits and I confirm you can ‘play’ with zBrush and the number of polygones until few millions before it makes some ‘lag’.
I add that zBrush is one of or maybe the most effective application in term of managing big numbers of polygones. What you can’ t do in other 3d app, you will be able with zbrush. It is a personal ascertainment.
Check that you don’t have dynamic subdivision activated accidentally. Take a look on the geometry sub-pallette, or just hit shift-d . It’s easy to put on accidentally and can slow things down.
Hello, markantonik
All setting of graphic card and ZBrush is default. OS updating to last updates.
I tried use Test Multithreading and Multithreading Optimizer in ZBrush, but it did not help.
Other applications (such as Maya) are working fine. But Maya uses GPU for viewport rendering, ZBrush - CPU
I checked the hard drive and RAM for errors. Everything works fine.
Gordon Robb, already checked. Dynamic Subdivision are disabled.
Well…
…I suppose you have already tried zbrush x64 and x32 executable ( & even previous versions like r6? ) ? ( to check if one version works fine ).
Another basic question to help you to target the potential source of your problem,
is have you verified what and how many applications are running when you use zBrush ?
I mean it is sometime the case where an application that usually works fine, may have some bad/unwanted ‘interraction’ with another (zBrush in your case), and makes issues, your system lags, etc.
I suggest, if you have not already check this kind of matter,
to disable/switch off one by one applications that are running when you use zBrush.
I hope i am clear, it makes sens, and it will help you.
ps: remember there are sometimes applications that runs in background without any icone/shortcut on your taskbar.
edit:
if you have not already made it,you can also check the usage of system resources when you use zBrush (to see & locate if an application has problems)
