Zbrush UV master Pasting UV Glitch

I’ve been trying to paste a UV map on a model to render out a normal map, but it’s creating a Glitch on the normal map. When I checked the UV map, it was broken, SO I again did the UV and pasted it using UV master but again it broke. I UV unwrapped the model in blender imported it using the GoZ plugin, then copied the UV using UV master and pasted it into my model. The topology is the same. When I check the UV on my Imported model, it’s correct but when I check the UV on the Original model after pasting it, it’s broken.

This is my Imported model’s UV.

This is my original model’s broken UV after pasting the UV map.

Hello @Shashwat_445,

I don’t know enough about your process to do anything more than guess here. However, I would check the geometry in that location on your original geometry very closely. It looks like maybe ZBrush is inserting an edge to force a quad and a tri there. It may be that you actually have an ngon in that location with two points that are too close to each other to be seen with the naked eye?

checkforngons

Remember that ZBrush does not support ngons. Polygons with greater than 4 points can’t exist at any time. All geometry should be converted into tris and quads before importing into ZBrush, otherwise it will draw connections to force quads and tris, changing the topology which will break UVs.

If you receive any messages about the points in your mesh when importing it into ZBrush, this is a non-trivial matter and can’t be ignored. It usually indicates a problem with the geometry. Likewise if the mesh reports any issues with Tool> Geoemtry> Mesh Integrity> Check Mesh, this also indicates problem geometry and must be dealt with.

Good luck! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @Spyndel

Thanks for replying !! There weren’t any n-gons in the model and it wasn’t happening because of any Topology error. However, after spending more than 24+ hours I finally found the culprit and the solution. It was the GoZ plugin that was creating the problem for some reason, I just exported my model from Zbrush in .obj format then imported it into blender, re-did the UV unwrapping then again exported it as a .obj file, then imported it into Zbrush and used the UV master to copy and paste the UV and it fixed it !!!

Hi @Shashwat_445

GoZ for Blender is not developed by Maxon or the ZBrush studio. If there’s an issue there you’ll need to contact the developer.

Good luck!
