ZBrush forum at CGTalk

Hello ZBrushers!

A new ZBrush forum has been added to CGTalk! Our good friends at CGNetworks have done a fantastic job of creating a community which allows artists to share their knowledge and achievements in an active and friendly environment. The new ZBrush forum at CGTalk will create a greater opportunity for ZBrush users to share their experiences with the artistic community at large. This will also help raise public awareness of ZBrush’s capabilities, and will promote opportunities for the community as a whole to share more of its knowledge with ZBrush artists.

I am excited at the prospect of increased communications between our two forums, and look forward to seeing great things from this synergy. (For that matter, I’m really looking forward to the possibility of creating cross-forum challenges and events which will allow for participation by members of both ZBrushCentral and CGTalk!)

ZBC members: You’re the ZBrush experts. Do you have a cool image? A promising work-in-progress? A ZBrush tip or tutorial? Post them in both forums! More artists will view your thread and you will receive more feedback and exposure for your efforts. In addition, we have asked that CGTalk members not post technical questions in that forum, but rather to come here for assistance as they seek to master ZBrush. I’d like to thank you in advance for the help that I have no doubt you will provide them with, just as you always have for every new ZBrush artist who has joined here.

Let’s get started! Click here to visit the ZBrush Forum at CGTalk

I have given this information but less detailed in this post
Pilou

I think it’s nice to have, but sheeshh… (hashish? )

Every time someone is looking for an answer you can just point him right here. The way it was recently re-organized is a breakthrough in efficiency. They should map the library of congress online this way. It’s so easy.

Good job ZBC staff, and designers. You’ve out done them all again. :+1:

Great to know you guys are getting extra “mainstream” exposure, but I agree with frechy that it is hard enough for us mere mortals to keep abreast of happenings at ZBC, let alone other forums!

I visited to take a look, and the first thing that caught my eye was a thread about ZBrush use with Lightwave, all the answers to which are to be found (usually with useful links) at ZBC. Since you updated the search engines and general forum management, I don’t see the need to go anywhere else for ZBrush knowledge…

Just my 2c…

me too

wide spread is not the more efficent way to find something.

Some forums are good, and I think ZBCentral is a great forum, if i need an information I’ll post here, cause I know I’ll got my answer, Pixollator, Aurick, Skycastle, Marcel, frenchy pilou,Strike, Southern, and so on (sorry for all the great one forget) they are all in here…

'm french and don’t even go to the ZB french forum for that reason

No need to post elsewhere,… CG Talk is so cumbersome already

The way I read Auricks post, this new forum at CGTalk is great for one main reason....not so much for the guys already here (although more people will be able to see your works), but for more widespread exposure of Zbrush. As good as Zbrush is, it is not exactly considered asmainstreamas 3d Studio Max, or XSI for example. We here already know how wonderful Zbrush is, but so-calledserious3d artists may already have dismissed it out of hand as an eccentric toy. Not that Im saying Zbrush isn`t a powerful piece of software, but the 3d masses need to be made aware of the possibilities of using Zbrush in their workflow.

This can only be a good thing, not just for them, but also for the Pixolator people on this forum. The guys posting in CGTalk might, for example, be masters of 3dstudio. I know I`m not. They will be able to share their knowledge with us here about using Zbrush with 3dstudio, or XSI, Maya etc… I know I would find it very useful.

That`s my opinion

things have change
they now charge a Membership for $29.95 :td:

Excuse me edonkey, but that is not true. There is no charge for being a member of the CGtalk forums. If you want to contribute to CGtalk you can join the CGSociety and have access to a few more extras. I simply joined because I gained much information and inspiration from the regular forums, forums that are still available to everyone. I still only visit the regular forums.

There is a long discussion about CGSociety on the CGTalk forums. Is it good or bad for CGtalk, I do not know, I just know CGtalk is still there and that makes me smile.

If you want to know more about CGSociety check the About CGSociety page. If you want to join the CGTalk forums without paying for CGSociety, then do so, it is free. I will not treat you any different whatever you choose.

Edit: I tried logging off CGTalk and I can see why you would think it requires a membership. Just go to the forums and press register. There you can choose if you want to join CGSociety (which requires a fee) or if you just want CGTalk (which is free).
