ZBrush and CINEMA 4D

Hi there,
i started just recently to use Cinema 4D alongside with ZBrush on a professional level, and i am looking for advice, opinion and everything else concerning that topic.
Main reason for that is, not only that i am working with it myself but also that i am prepearing an article on the topic “C4D <–> ZB”. How’s the workflow, what advantages you see, what disadvantage. I am interested in everything, as long as it is based on facts and not a flame.
Thanks in advance
and best regards

cinema 4d is probably one of the fastest loading (application not the transfer between the two) of the GoZ enabled applications.
old but should be helpful
a bit obsoleted from GoZ --> http://www.pixologic.com/docs/index.php/ZBrush_to_Cinema4D

So I am actually doing a tutorial on my personal website about this exact topic. I find that transitioning from Zbrush to C4D and back again is extremely easy. So long as you are using C4DR12 and Zbrush 4, there are several reasons for this and the below are just a few.

-During modeling when you create a base mesh in Zbrush at a very low poly subdivision level you can transition to C4D very easily to modify the flow of the polygons. This is extremely important because the flow of the polygons has to be very distinct especially when when going to higher subdivision levels, rigging, or map creation.

-It is very easy to create a UV map in Zbrush using the Zbrush4 tools and then transition that map over to C4D or photoshop for texture. In C4D it is very difficult to create a unique UV map based on the topology of your model, with Zbrush it’s as easy as painting areas that you want seams to occur in and areas that you want to protect.

-Lets say you have multiple pieces of a model that you want to rig. You can import each portion of the model and rig independently. So if you design clothes for a model you can import the base model, rig that, then import the clothes and add jiggle modifiers, or parent them to the previously rigged model with ease.

These are just a few reasons why I use Zbrush to C4D in my workflow. The below URL is for my tutorial, I’m not finished with it yet but as soon as I am I will repost to this thread. Thanks
