This is my first time buying Zbrush so when I got
“You have reached the maximum number of activations for this serial number.”
I was surprised, I check my activation history and it’s blank.
How do i fix this?
Try again later. This is happening to a number of people and our IT manager is looking into it.

Did you use the upgrader from 4R5 or the stand-alone installer? If you used the upgrader, try uninstalling and using the other instead.
Were you logged into the machine under an administrator account while installing ZBrush? While activating it? ZBrush requires that you are, after which it will run fine for any user on that computer.
Did you have antivirus software running at the time? If you did, try disabling it before trying again.
do I have to deactivate the software first than reactivate it afterword. Right Now Z is acting very squirly and on a 500k model for zremesh its taking about 20 minutes and even longer for a 500k unwrap for UV’s. I usually format my HD every couple of months anyway so I just would like to know.
I bought my version of ZBrush nearly a have year ago. It worked properly after activation.
Yesterday I used the GoZ with poser. I transferd a figure from poser to the non opened ZBrush, then it opened with the activation-window and I was able to activate it online again. I didn’t deactivate it before. So I was afraid, that it wouldn’T activate again.
Did anybody else have such a mysterious need of reactivation?

again, my 4R6 wanted Reactivation today. I didn’t deactivate it ever before.
I found, that the reactivation is wanted, after going back from Poser 2014 to Poser 2012 and then sending a figure from Poser 2012 to ZBrush by GOZ.
This now was reproducable by me twice.
No changing in configuration of ZBrush!
Now I have reactivated ZBrush twice, so I have activated it online 3 times. I don’T know how often this is possible.
But I sometimes have to go back to poser 2012 to be able to save my poser-files in poser-2012 compatible format. If then, I accidentialy sometimes use GOZ from Poser 2012 instead of 2014 and the above problem occurs.

I’ve got a new laptop, and I’d like to deactivate the license on my old laptop, and install 4r6 on my new laptop!
i want to make sure I understand the process, because I’ve only got access to broadband for about 4 days starting later this week! I have a 4r5 installer that I got as an upgrade. Would it be valid to de-activate 4r6 on my old laptop, use the 4r5 installer on my new laptop then run the updater? Or should I deactivate on my old laptop, and submit a ticket for a full 4r6 installer since it’s a new machine?

Ok, so I downloaded zbrush and it starts up fine. However, when I try click on web activation on startup it asks me to agree to the terms and conditions. Of course I agree… Then it suppose to redirect me to an activation site so I can receive my activation code. However, instead of redirecting me anywhere it does nothing instead. A little pop up on zbrush says, “Activation requested! after completing the web form…etc…” Please Help!!! I’ve been dieing to use this software.

First, are you using Firefox or Edge as your default web browser? If so, I recommend temporarily changing to Chrome or Internet Explorer. Those have a lot more luck. Firefox will never allow itself to be launched by ZBrush and Edge is so new it still has some issues.
Second, if your internet browser is open when you start ZBrush, it doesn’t always come forward when ZBrush sends the activation link to it. Try switching to your browser to see if it has updated. If not, then close it, switch back to ZBrush and try Web Activation again. Hopefully it will now be launched by ZBrush and if so it should come up in front of ZBrush.
If your browser isn’t open when you start ZBrush and isn’t being launched by it, then the other thing to try is to launch your browser and leave it open before starting ZBrush. When you choose Web Activation and agree to the EULA, give it a few moments to bring your browser forward. If that doesn’t happen on its own, switch to it to see if it has updated in the background.
This will typically resolve the issue you’re encountering. On rare occasions it does not. In that case you would need to choose Phone activation. You can either call us as instructed by ZBrush or (if you’d rather not read over 100 letters back and forth over the phone) you can take note of the request code and then submit a Support ticket. In your ticket, include the request code, your serial number and whatever you would like to call this computer. We’ll create your activation code and send it back to you so that you can copy and paste it into ZBrush.
I´m trying to activate Zbrush.

Neither does http://support.pixologic.com/.
How can I activate the software? I’m not in the US, so I can’t use phone activation.

Once the Trial has been completed it cannot be renewed. That would defeat the purpose of it being a Trial. If you are looking for free software, try Sculptris.

I just installed the trial version of Zbrush and followed the instructions.
However when prompted to select the trail activation key file and selecting it in the file explorer, i am shown an error window saying abnormal termination.
