Wolfman

Hi guys, I know that this isn’t a ZB image but I thought you all might like to see what I have been up to and why I have been too busy to post. I’m in England working on the wolfman. They posted a couple of shots here a day so so ago http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,20185191,00.html
If you are interested in seeing them. There sure has been a lot of great work here on the forum lately. Whenever I get the chance I drop by to look and am really impressed by what I see. Sorry for taking up space with non ZB stuff. I did use ZB in my design process but can’t show that stuff now.

What a cute puppy! Thanks for the preview. Awesome work.

Nice job Rick, it will be interesting to see how you handled the hair in zbrush. Did you insert all the hairs in the real life makeup yourself? I love the detail on the nose, it brings back fond memories of my dogs. I also love the teeth and that blackish tartar or whatever, my dogs used to have that too, but i never knew what it was.
How does it feel to come full circle in a sense, working on a werewolf movie again, not to mention ‘the’ werewolf movie?

MM,
Your work brings me to tears! You possess more talent in your little finger than I have in my whole being. I sincerely wish I could work under your tutelage for a few years, but then I’d never finish my book  . Thanks so much for sharing what you can!
Gary

I have never worked for you, but i know your work well. Outstanding work on the wolfman! I have been at stans for 8 years as a key artist (a standroid) and i have to say that i always look forward to your beasties. Your werewolves Kick @$$! Hats off to the master!

Ps. I remember watching A.W.L. on HBO for the first time. I was so scared during the werewolf scenes i watched it from across the room and at the top of the stairs (probably 40 feet from the tv). he,he. j :+1: :+1:

this film must be great , wating for more shots…

MM,

That´s a sweet wolfie! Looking forward to the film. Please , post your pre-production artwork here when you can.

BTW, are you planning a book about your career? I collect all interviews and articles about your work that I can find (both Cinefex, all those old Fangorias, “Making a Monster” by Al Taylor , etc) and a nice coffee table book with your achievements would be an amazing resource.

Your fan,

got me intrigued  Enjoy the process :+1: :sunglasses:

The teeth are really amazing. It’s nice to see a good werewolf. I hope you are able to post the preproduction art down the line.

Rick,

This thing about made me crap my pants! Believe me that is a compliment! I love Werewolves; I have always had a fascination/fear of them since my early child hood.

Little story, I was about 5 -7 years old (not quite sure the age it was so long ago.) and my mom and dad rented American Werewolf in London. (I think that was it) I wanted to watch it but my dad said no, I wasn’t old enough it would give me nightmares. I begged him but he wouldn’t budge. So I waited until my mom and dad thought I was asleep and they popped the movie in downstairs.
The way our house was set up there was a section in one of our walls that led to the downstairs that had these window cutouts so you could see downstairs through. I was set, I was sitting upstairs peeking through these window cut outs watching the movie from afar in secrete, or so I thought. My dad must have noticed me peeking downstairs to see the movie so he waited for a climatic moment in the move, mind you I am around 6 years old sitting in the dark all alone watching a Werewolf movie for the first time, and my dad jumps up into the window and roars like a hairy beast. I must have jumped back about 7 feet and screamed like a little girl. My dad thought it was funny, guess I learned a lesson but I never wanted to take the trash out at night be cause of my child hood trauma. When I got a little older I had to go out back and get wood at night for our wood burning stove during the winter. There were many nights that I was for sure that I wouldn’t make it home alive and my mom and dad would be sorry that they ever gave me such a horrible job.

Peace,

NickZ.

Love it! Looks incredible nice! Wolfman is really god, I hope one day I can finally see remake of Howling that is absolute king of all werewolf movies for me.
Keep it up! Love your work! :+1: :+1:
