WIP : Character: Planet of the Apes - General Thade

Here is General Thade from Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes. It is still a work in progress, but i have done quite some zbrush on it already.(Still learning though, my first time:confused: ) Here are some pics of what i have gathered in throughout the weeks i’ve been working on it.

I have chosen not to replicate the wrinkles of the real face design completely and to do something for my own taste. I might also turn to displacement instead since as it seems, the normal map head is very vulnerable to different types of lighting and could make a big difference in the detail that shows.

Killer work on the armour. All around, looks to be good solid work.

Here’s a comp pic. Just trying to capture some sort of mood from the movie, and an attempt to see how realistic and cinematic i can get with what i have so far. I have finished the body armor and have started on the color map for the face.

Do you plan to animate it?
Didi you sculpt the armor too? Could post sculpt screenshots of it?

Thanks. I do plan to mocap it doing some monkeying around type of move, but the tough part will be the rigging. We’ll see how it goes. I didn’t actually sculp the model in zbrush, i painted the armor in photoshop and used a normal map filter to convert it to a normal map.
