Window is not positioned correctly on the screen at launch

Hello.

My ZBrush 4r2 window doesn’t fill the screen entirely (Windows 7 x64).
The solution (for version 3.5 though) https://support.pixologic.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=38# doesn’t seem to help.

I don’t get that issue thankfully. But I do get a ~3 second black screen when starting z4r2 on win7 64-bit

I have a similar issue with the window not fitting the screen on Vista 32 - it overflows the screen so that some of the icons are partially hidden. I’m just minimising the window size and stretching out the edges to fit my screen, which is kind of handy as I can leave the taskbar visible across the bottom.

Same issue on Win Vista-64 as hoskins. It would be great if it could remember previous vindow size and position on startup. Or at least leave the task bar visible by default.

In your Pixologic\ZBrush 4R2\ZStartup\ConfigFiles folder you probably have two files – a .dat file and another one. Delete that second file and restart ZBrush.

To make ZBrush remember a size other than maximized, click the restore icon in the title bar so that it’s not maximized anymore. Next, drag the edges to position the window how you want it. Finally, press Ctrl+Shift+I or Cmd+Shift+I to save the position. This will only work if the window is not maximized.

Worked perfectly. Thank you very much!

Wondering if this shouldn’t be sticky or FAQued:qu:

Yup, worked perfectly for me too. Thanks! Mark this one as “Solved”!

Worked for me too - Superb! :+1:

Cool! That worked for my ~3 sec black flash too (I resized it back to fullscreen and saved the master config file again)

Thanks!
