Why can't I get pressure sensitivity to work?

I’ve tried playing with different settings but none of my brushes have pressure sensitivity. There’s no difference than using a mouse. I’m using a wacom. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe nothing

  1. Try setting the tip feel for the pen to a “firmer” setting. It can sometimes be the case that for various reasons the default setting is too “soft” and transitions too easily to the full pressure state so that the pressure sensitivity can’t be seen.

Set the pen to the firmest possible setting so that it requires a good deal of physical pressure to transition between pressure states. Make sure you are setting this globally for “all applications”, as it is possible to encounter situations where the application specific settings are targeting the wrong program version or being overridden by the global settings.

If you can see a difference when you do this, then you know what the problem is, and you can adjust the pressure sensitivity as you prefer. If it is the case that you see a change when you adjust it globally but not when you adjust it only for ZBrush then what I described above may be happening. You will need to contact Support for further assistance.

  1. If the above does not change anything, completely uninstall the tablet and tablet drivers, then re-download the most up to date drivers directly from Wacom. Reinstall the tablet with these, even if you already had the same driver version installed. This can sometimes correct an issue with a faulty driver installation.

Try to use the pen with the “Use Windows Ink” setting in the wacom mapping tab both active and deactivated, and see which works best for you.
