Where's "Mirror and Weld" Gone?

Hi, new to ZBrush. I’m following a tutorial and it says “Mirror and Weld” are in (Geometry > Modify Topology > Mirror and Weld)

but it’s not there.

Where has “Mirror and Weld” gone?

  1. I created mesh using ZShheres
  2. I press (A Key)
  3. I want to mirror and weld but it isn’t available in: (Geometry > Modify Topology > Mirror and Weld)?

What am I doing wrong?

Are you on a polymesh or some other type of geometry?

That option is not available for a ZSphere preview. You have to make an adaptive skin first then you can use Mirror and Weld on the skin.

Hi, thanks for the reply beta_channel. I made a ZSphere model, then pressed “A Key” to turn it into a mesh.

zber2,

Hi, thanks for the reply. Is there a video explaining this process so I can understand how to do it. I thought once you press “A Key” it turns the ZSphere’s into a mesh.

When you are working on ZSpheres and you press the A key, that is only a preview of what the Adaptive Skin will look like. It is not the actual skin. To get the actual skin, you have to press the “Make Adaptive Skin” button in the Adaptive Skin subpalette. When you do that, it will put a new tool in the Tool palette that will have the prefix “Skin_” before the name. The skin is what will make the Mirror and Weld option available.
