What is the difference, between CG Japanese/Korean Characters and Western CG Char?

Hello,

i wanted to know, what is the difference between japanese and western CG character?

I want to sculpt lightning from final fantasy. SHe would be my first japanese character.

BUT, i want to know, what is the difference between japanese and western characters?

Are japanese/korean characters more feminim? How you transform a western female character to a japanese character?

Could you give me your experience?

Japanese characters are influenced by manga (big eyes, childish etc). Depending of the model can be more or less deformed.
For 3d the best way to appreciate the rules of deformation that follow this style are the Japanese dolls. As they are 3d you can appreciate better the style. You can find also models without clothes to study the proportions better. Because the style is so repetitive the patterns are evident. The only thing to take in account is the degree of deformation as it varies depending if the model is more or less childish: Bigger or smaller heads, longer or shorter legs.
