waterfall drawing

I know it isn’t done in ZBrush but someone suggested I show it to you.

The rocks are graphite, the water is drawn with copper, silver and gold wire, the shrubs colored pencil.

It is 21" by 32"

willt nice drawing and subtle colors.

This would be a nice project for the PaintStop plugin - emulating > copper, silver and gold wire > Silverpoint, etc.

BTW - are you using paper or/and Golden’s Silverpoint drawing Ground?

Good Morning Spaceman,

I see you know about silverpoint, etc.

I used to draw on clay coated paper but nowadays I draw on drafting mylar. It is frosted one side and incredibly sensitive to any drawing medium. I get it in 40" wide rolls and cut it up into whatever size I need. The cool thing about it is that it allows light to go through and under the drawing. I back the mylar with heavy white board so the light reflects back through between the marks in the drawing and creates an overall glow and sparkle that creates more depth than if it was done on paper.

Waterfalls are a series I am working on this year. Just finished another one and I’ll post it when I shoot a photo. Last year I did a series of over twenty drawings of Sycamore tree branches. Not the street tree Sycamores, but wild ones that grow up to a couple hundred feet across (the branch structure), live in streams, and their branches dip down to the ground, etc. Wild!

I am just getting into ZBrush and looking forward to working with it. I got started a while back then came a long break and now I’m back and with R3 coming along it’s looking really fine.

If interested you can see the sycamore branches at:

bigsurfineartdotcom hover the galleries menu item then click the sycamore branch drawings item.

I appreciate your willingness to comment on a non ZBrush piece of work. thanks.
