Water Modeling

hey guys I am trying to model water like the one these dolphins are standing on, any ideas on how to begin or wich tools would be the most useful for this effect?

Looks easy to me, I would build the base out of Zspheres and the sculpt with the rake brush and all the other fun new brushes. they make abstract shapes like that a breeze.

thanks ill post my progress as i move along.

This help you at all?

If so, just ask some specific questions and I’ll walk you through what I can…

Thanks for the help, I am honored, I will post an image soon looks ok so far, what i was needing was I couldn`t see the workflow and that has been provided so at this point looks like I am on autopilot, I will need some assistance on texturing and shading for this though

Ok here we go, doesn`t look all that great tips on making better welcome but i was able to get an idea of how to do it, http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/55971993/

Now Ill work on getting a cool shader for it

A good start. Now you have to pull the flow out of that with the tools. Try the snakehook, clay and pinch brushes to pull the form detais out.

When you get that and if you want I can explain how to do the spalshes or water droplets.

Cool I played around with mats a little bit but Could not get a decent workflow, to get subtools using them. I will work more on the deatils later today  heres another attempt at a decent image

It’s looking ok, but water less solid looking form. Not that mine is the best as it was a test at the time just how far I could push the beta. But even the rough version in one of the images with the surfer at the base of the wave may give you better ideas - rough it up, then smooth later…

Stick out your tongue and try not to swallow.

A great start - look forward to see how you resolve your investigation.
I presume your attempting to stylise in a Hokusai manner ?

Thanks for the great feedback, I am going to work on the water another 3-4 hours i hope that will be enough hokusai?? not sure what you mean, in the end I want the waves to look like glass and stuff. I am still extremely happy as of this morning i had no idea how to start and look O.o
