Wacom Tablet Mapping Problems in Menu

I’ve been having this issue for a few months now and I’ve tried Googling but I have no idea what to look for.

I’m using a Macbook Pro, the new 4R8 (and this also happened before upgrading) and an Intuos Pro.

The issue:

Whenever I open a menu, such as Save As or Import that isn’t a built in Zbrush menu my tablet pen acts like it’s in a completely wrong spot. I have to constantly switch to my mouse to use these menus and this is really frustrating. If I sit for a minute and tap around a good half a monitor below the buttons, I will eventually be able to click on the button I want, but this is pretty inconvenient and impractical.

I recently bought a new Wacom Cintiq so I completely removed and reinstalled my Wacom drivers just in case (I was kind of just hoping this would fix the issue, so I’d never posted here before about it. But it didn’t help. In fact, I had so many issues with the Cintiq and Zbrush not working together that I returned the tablet to the store. But not before posting on several forums with no responses about the issue and doing a ton of my own troubleshooting trying to pinpoint the issue. Since then I’ve reinstalled my drivers again but I’m still having this issue among other, more minor, but still frustrating issues.

Whenever I leave Zbrush to click on my web browser or reference image or anything and click back to Zbrush it acts like I’ve grabbed the bottom menu slideout area and I’m trying to position it. I have to click to get it to release, and then tap it again to minimize it back to the bottom.

Any ideas on these issues I’m having? I’d be happy to share a video of the problems if necessary.

same for me… they aren’t taking responsibility for it… sigh. just finger pointing… and its only zbrush… other apps are all fine…

I’m having the same problem. When ZBRush starts, its window is 36px shifted down. When I drag that window up to the menubar, the hitbox of the buttons get offset. Even with the mouse. I also have a Wacom tablet (with the latest drivers) attached though.

It helps to first hide the Dock and then start ZBrush.
After putting ZBrush in fullscreen mode with the mouse (the Wacom Pen doesn’t work outside the ZBrush window), it seems to work fairly stable.

Well this fixed it for me! seems driver utility leaves stuff behind and uninstall / re install isn’t as clean as it should be

Dear Customer

Thank you for your response and I apologize for the long delay on getting back to you, I would like for you to follow the steps below to reinstall the driver to see if the issue can fixed, if the issue persists please send me a video of the of the pen mis-alignment.

An outdated or corrupt preference file could be causing an issue. First, disconnect the tablet from the computer and remove the driver using the Wacom Utility. After removing the driver with the utility, you can manually check to see if anything is left behind in the following folders. So while in our desktop we want to click on ‘Go’ (upper left corner), then on ‘Computer’. Once inside, please access your main hard drive (by default should be named Macintosh HD). Once we’re here anything that’s related to Wacom, would need to be removed from the folders. The same will have to be checked in any respective User’s folder on the system. On OS X 10.7 Lion or later, the User Library folder has been hidden. To access it, you must select ‘Go’ from the top of Finder and select 'Go to folder…’. Here, enter ’ ~/Library ’ to access the current user’s Library folder. Please check for Wacom related files and remove them from inside the next folders:

Macintosh HD/

Applications/Wacom Tablet
Library/Application Support/Tablet
Library/Frameworks/WacomMultiTouch.framework
Library/Internet Plugins/WacomTabletPlugin.plugin
Library/Launch Agents/com.wacom.wacomtablet.plist
Library/LaunchDaemons/com.wacom.displayhelper.plist
Library/LaunchDaemons/com.wacom.RemoveTabletHelpter.plist
Library/LaunchDaemons/com.wacom.TabletHelper.plist
Library/PreferencePanes/WacomTablet.prefpane
Library/Preferences/Tablet
Library/PriveledgedHelperTools/com.wacom.RemoveTabletHelper
Library/PriveledgedHelperTools/com.wacom.TabletHelper
Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/com.wacom.ProfessionalTablet.plist
Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/com.wacom.wacomtablet.prefs
Users/<user>/Library/Preferences/com.wacom.wacomtouch.prefs

After this is complete then there should not be any leftover files of a previous Wacom driver file. A restart and a repair of your disk permissions would be important steps before installing a driver. Again, make sure that the tablet is plugged directly into the computer, not into a USB hub or keyboard/monitor.

Once this is complete, download and install the latest driver from:
http://cdn.wacom.com/u/productsupport/drivers/mac/professional/WacomTablet_6.3.23-4.dmg

As always, make sure your tablet is connected directly to your computer. Avoid using USB hubs, keyboard/monitor ports, or docking stations with the tablets, as they can cause inconsistent behavior.

Hope this helps.
Thank you for choosing Wacom, Have a creative day!
